S (For people who NEVER read documentation)• Use the forward and backward arrows on the keyboard to go from page to page in any section of the Voyager Macbeth. • To listen to the Royal Shakespeare Company’s performance of Macbeth from within the text of the play, click on any line of dialogue. The audio will begin from the line on which you clicked (if that line appears in the performance), and the play’s pages will turn automatically to keep pace. To stop the audio, click on the text again. To see which lines on the page are performed in this production, hold the mouse down in the lower right corner of the page.• All functions are available either from the Macbeth menu or from the Tools palette. – To make the menu bar visible, move the cursor to the top of the screen. The menu bar will appear automatically and will remain visible as long as the cursor remains at the top of the screen. You can also type -space to show or hide the menu bar. – To make the Tools palette appear or disappear, click anywhere in the gray patterned area on the left side of most pages. Or, press -T to show or hide the Tools palette.• Several scenes in the play are linked to clips from significant film productions of Macbeth. These links are indicated by a film-strip icon in the gray patterned area on the left side of the page. – To view the corresponding scene in the Clips Gallery, click the film-strip button.– To return to the main body of the text, click the Return to the Play button.• Most sections of the Voyager Macbeth have pop-up annotations indicated with either a gray underline or a dagger in the right-hand margin. – To read these notes, click on the underlined text or the dagger. Most annotations appear in a yellow or gray rectangle on the current page of text. – To close the annotation and return to the text, click anywhere in the annotation window. – A few annotations are cross-references (links) to other places in the Voyager Macbeth; in these cases, the meaning of the marked text usually indicates the link (e.g. “see the ‘Lineation in the Folio’ section of the ‘Textual Analysis’ essay”). To go to the cross-referenced page or section, click on the annotation. To return to the original page, click Retrace on the Tools Palette. • Some kinds of information, such as the Act Commentaries or this Help file, appears in “floating” windows. To close these windows, click the Close box at the left side of the window’s title bar. To shrink a window so that only the title bar is displayed, click the Zoom box at the right side of the window’s title bar.• To find other occurrences of any word in the text, hold the mouse down over that word. A pop-up menu will appear, giving you several search options.• The red “M” on the Contents page of the book is a bookmark which automatically remembers where you were in the Voyager Macbeth when you left or closed it. When you reopen the Voyager Macbeth, click on the bookmark to go directly to that page.• If you only have 256 colors available on your system, the film clips may appear grainy. For a clearer picture, quit Macbeth, switch your monitor to gray-scale, and restart the program. • The Voyager Macbeth contains many useful and interesting features.
